Getting the roof insert final welded, and leveled on the Vicky.

I've been working on getting all the seams leveled and making it so they have a smooth transition into the roof. Its coming along really well, and all the seams have a really nice transition into the new insert. Now I just have to finish welding the rest of the seam, and go back and touch up any distortion on the seams.

I've been stitch welding in between the tack welds on the roof insert. Its quite the process on a panel this big, but its coming together really nice.

Got the roof insert all tacked in place on the Vicky.

I finished up today tacking the roof insert in place. Its quite the process making sure that both panels are exactly level with each other for each tack weld. But once all the tack welds are done around 1/4" apart, then I know that I can weld in between the tack welds and that area will be lined up just right.

I worked on getting the insert trimmed to fit the new opening on the Vicky. I left tabs for the cleco's on the insert, that way I could make sure it was exactly where I wanted it back in the car. Now its the long process of welding in between the cleco tabs.

I finished rolling the roof insert today on the Vicky. With the panel made, I've trimmed out the inner brace panel on the car, and cleco'd the panel in place. Now I just finalize where I want the seam on the body, and trim the new panel to fit. Then the long process of welding in the panel completely.

I grabbed a couple of my buddies and this morning we started rolling out the roof insert for the Vicky. Its the biggest steel panel I've rolled out to date. And we got about a third of the way there today.

Finished all the seams on the back conversion on the Vicky.

I finished up all the rest of the seams today on the back conversion. I'm super happy on how it turned out, such a huge difference from before to now.

Sold my 32' tudor sedan. :(

I had a fellow in lousiana make me an offer on the sedan that I couldn't refuse. So it went down the road, and he will continue to put his style on the car. I was able to sell the car without the engine and transmisison. I'll be using them on the next project.

Did a Bonneville display at the local autorama with the 32' sedan.

I made up a neat display with the sedan to make it look like it was out on the salt at Bonneville. I used a piece of carpet painted white with a black line. Then I used ivory soap whipped with water so it was like whip cream and textured the car to look like salt.

I'm stitch welding all the seams around the drivers rear on the vicky. Its a slow process, but its coming together nicely.

Been working on the exhaust and brake lines on the 33' Phaeton.

I got most of the exhaust routed on the phaeton. Were running porter mufflers, and i've made side exhaust that open's in front of the muffler so its more of a straight pipe. Also I've run most of the brake lines on the car all out of stainless.

Started welding up the drivers side rear on the Vicky.

Tack welding the drivers side rear seams. Just have to make sure that all the seams line up just right before I start welding it up solid. I'ts coming along really nice.

Finished the passenger side rear seams on the Vicky.

I got all the seams welded up and finished on the passenger side. Nice to see it all come together, really looks a ton better.

More welding on the Vicky.

Its quite the process welding up all the seams. I weld little at a time, hammering each weld seam as I go, that way I can prevent warping as much as possible.

Welding up the seams on the rear panels on the Vicky.

I'm welding up all the seams now that all the panels are made. Its a time consuming process, cause first I have to make sure to line up all the seams perfectly with little tack welds. Then I continue to do that until I have tack welds every half inch or so. Then once that is done I can fill in the gaps with half inch welds at a time.
